Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) Cutting Applications

Our sophisticated computer programs enable us to produce ship hull models (See our Computer Modelling page for more details) for which we can produce CNC cutting data to various stages, according to client's requirements:

  • Computer faired hull lines

  • Frame components nested onto specified plate/sheet material

  • CAD drawing files (DXF) for frame components, ready for toolpath code generation.

  • 2D-Toolpath code generation for many CNC controllers

  • 3D Toolpath generation for 5-axis milling machines

  • Development of skewed hull panels

  • Expansion of curved hull panels, including rolling lines, forming templates and strain maps

  • Nesting and CNC toolpath generation for shell plating

  • Total ship hull CNC packages including brackets, collars and similar components.

Pre-Cut Hull Kits

Prepared especially for builders who don't have the time to spend on costly lofting, setting up, fairing, nesting and component cutting. All pre-cut components are delivered with clear identification, and with an assembly plan for easy construction. Kits are available for steel, alloy and plywood construction.

Full-size Lofting Service

Full size frame patterns (with or without stringer cut-outs) are supplied on Polyester film. These are usually on AO -size sheets with a waterline and buttock grid, and clear assembly marks for surround, however can be supplied on large polyester (mylar), sheets approximately 1.6m wide and up to 9m long.
